    We often have lunch at The Royal, it's our "us" time.

    Caringbah would be awesome for me (I'm working in Miranda) but Sutherland also fine.

    Scoped out the Royal tonight. The back restaurant was mostly full, with a decent volume to it. Just usual chatter from all the tables. vudu was right, no music, but I'm not sure what constitutes "loud".
    The front sports bar section has two high-top tables next to pool tables. Would cater max 8 each. It was much quieter here. They do wait the food to these tables from the back, though. I tried asking the bartender about reserving the front, but he couldn't really give a definite answer.

    There's a kids play are adjacent and within view of the restaurant. Typical small kids play equipment. Climbing castle, tunnels etc. May suit.

    It wasn't too busy last Wednesday when I was there, so I'm happy to call up to book the front tables I was talking about. I haven't been to the Caringbah venue mentioned.
    So unless @splatters or @Illusivedreams strongly oppose to Sutherland, I think we'll lock it in.
