    Hi all,

Just hoping to get peoples opinions on these areas please.

I am looking to move with my family soon. Given our budget and property preferences, I am likely to be limited to these areas.

Any opinion on things such as lifestyle, crime rates, infrastructure/facilities/traffic and general demographics would be good.

For example, I have heard that the west (Werribee/Hoppers Crossing/Tarneit etc) have awful traffic. (or more bad than other areas) My partner and I will be car dependent and will work in the CBD so thats an important thing to know.

If you were in this position and had to choose, where would you live and why?

    Thanks all

If you'd be okay with living in a townhouse, you'd be able to snag one in Essendon, Pascoe Vale, West Brunswick (maybe), Moonee Ponds in the inner north. If you went towards the east, Box Hill, parts of Bulleen etc too. Living in these areas will make your commute the hell of a lot easier. Better lifestyle too - proximity to entertainment, CBD, major parks, river(s) etc. The ones I picked in the inner north are desirable areas to live in, at least Essendon and M Ponds are - if you decided to move out in say 3-5 years, you should be able to get the property rented out fairly quickly.

This is the filter I used for ^^ https://www.realestate.com.au/buy/p...cePage=map&sourceElement=location-tile-search.

If you want a house, you may get into Hoppers: https://www.realestate.com.au/prope...ge=rea:buy:srp-map&sourceElement=listing-tile and https://www.realestate.com.au/prope...ge=rea:buy:srp-map&sourceElement=listing-tile.

As for traffic, anywhere's crazy during peak hour in normal times. Tarneit used to be particularly bad around the station and shopping center. I wouldn't live there.

Also, what sort of family are you? By that I mean is a back/front yard a "must have" or kids are happy to be stuck away in a room all day and need to be dragged outside for exercise etc.
