    Hi,
II'm doing a subdivision and will build a new house. My immediate neighbour has already given me consent to connect to his drainage system. As his one connects to a drainage pit in a community title and owned by the community, the council said my neighbour's consent is not enough, I have to get the consent from all owners in the community, is that a reasonable request and has anyone having similar experience can share?
The neighbour has on site detention tank (OSD). he agrees for some compensation so he could increase the volume of the tank, so that the flow to down stream community keeps the same even if I connect my storm water pipe to him. I wonder this will convince the council no need to ask the consent from the community?

You may have to try and comply with council's request but at the same time there are specialist hydrologists who can give advice and write reports as necessary.

@PMind - the issue being that the neighbour has the benefit of the easement, they don't own the stormwater system, the adjoining community does, so you need their consent.
