Advice required from experienced developers in Perth. Has anyone thought about installing stand alone solar power battery/gas turbine for the new developments? Is it allowed in WA? Looking at all the options to subdivide a property to three house strata development in near future. thanks

Why? To make it attractive to prospective buyers? A whole lot of upfront cost and maintenance for not that much gain.

The CSIRO were developing a gas powered turbine for home electricity production years ago, not sure if it was ever small enough for domestic use.

Would be a great idea when used in conjunction with solar.

Not sure most would stump up for the additional expense

    .
Thanks for the information. I thought the upfront costs will be more or less same as the cost of getting three services from Western power and laying cables from street to three houses on 30 m long drive way.

There is no charges for new gas connections so no savings there. With western power you might need one new dome and/or a site main switchboard. You're looking at around $5-6000 for a new dome and site main switchboard for power which wouldn't even buy one battery. The run in costs are fairly minimal
