    Resources would be far better spent trying to save this planet than the impractical and ultimately destructive goal of creating tiny resource hungry settlements on other inhospitable planets.

    Man made global warming is already a proven fact, there is no uncertainty except for the scale and speed of the disaster that is upon us. It needs to be dealt with as a priority above all else.

    Yes it won't affect us mature adults so much, but that doesn't mean we should ignore future generations for our own benefit.

    Was not referring to this...... But aerospace research, and what will be achieved/discovered an unknown???

    there is another thread on climate change lets stick to topic and not muddy the waters

    Ok but even as far as settlement on another planet.. it's just not a realistic goal for the future of mankind. Sure it's an achievement like landing on the moon was, but there is a reason countries stopped going to the moon 50 years ago, it was an ego driven space race with no ultimate economic or humanity benefits.

    It's not really off topic, a lot of NASA resources focused on climate change have been cancelled/reduced in favour of space exploration and travel.
