Partner just sold a house. In the contract it was subject to a building inspection and "clearing leaves and loose items from yard" I had cleared the leaves and what not couple weeks ago. Anyway settled yesterday and new owners complaining yard is not clean. Conveyances are saying they (new owners) are going to get someone to clear it and send us an invoice. Can they do this? And do we have to pay for said invoice? I feel like they are just being assholes. My partner even agreed to let them move in one day early and let them into the house a few weeks before settlement so they could bring trades people there to get quotes on new work they were going to be doing. I have asked for this type of deal many times when I have bought IPs and have been told no every time. So thought it would be a friendly gesture to let them do it. And in return get complaints about a leaves. Oh and the agent we used to sell house is conveniently "away"
