SMSF - allowable beneficiaries?

    But my point is that for various reasons you may not have a valid will at death. If there is no will then there is no executor and a BDBN will be invalid if it nominated your executor.

    A will may not exist at the time of your death for various reasons:
    1. rescind
    2. lost
    3. incapacity
    4. invalid or defects
    etc

    You will have to read your deed and find out if there is a power to change it and who has the power and how it can be exercised. It would be unusual if there is no such power.
