@datto goes out cruising every Friday night. Last night it was Dhurruk Heights to the wetlands.

This was in the news a while ago due to the ongoing battle the owner has had with local authorities over the past 20+ years. 400 conditions to get a permit!

Some of this is described in the ‘about’ page on the website.

Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo is very family focused, with different modes of transport available to visitors exploring the vast 3 square kms. They have accommodation available on site and run night tours as well.

Only thing is the heat would kill me. Had a friend who went not long ago and enjoyed it. But the heat is another story..

To give you an idea..i use air-con in winter ..

The smoke situation can change very rapidly.

Canberra has been very clear for the last week - but it has rolled in very quickly, visibility is about 1km, and it smells burnt.

It does get very hot out there in the summer months. It is a drier heat though than what we have here on the coast.
I don't have air-con as it's never too hot or never too cold. Spoilt I guess!

The water temperature is a measure of how hot or cold the water is, generally here measured in degrees Celsius ;-)

    Goodonya. Nice pick up.
Preferably I like it well above 20 degrees celsius. 25 degrees celsius being the optimum.

Sorry to butt in, but while you are all suggesting short stays -

We are driving from Sydney to Melbourne in a few weeks, just before that awful C day. I would like to travel via the Alps. What is a nice place to stay overnight in Summer that wont be booked out? (Budget class is even better)

Decided to book Gerrigong. So hopefully its all clear down there. Havent done much of the South Coast but looks very serene and peaceful. Can't wait to get outta Sydney for a change.

Going to Mazies, the zoo...anywhere else interesting? Good coffee anywhere in kiama??
