Small patch of damp. How do I get rid of it?

    These old houses were built without "dampcourse" as we know it now.
    They relied on getting water flowing away from the house and good ventilation to dry out after a wetting.
    Problems occur when this is changed either by blocking airflow or by not having the water flow away from the house....for whatever reason.
    I'll reinforce that it's good to wait as long as possible before sealing the wall to allow proper drying out....
