So despite spending $1000 or so on a season pass and road pass we missed the season so far, mainly due to a reno in Melbourne. Finally going tomorrow for a couple of days. I've been checking the webcams though and if this and the weather in SE Vic is anything to go by it's never stopped being rainy and cloudy?

So far has it been a sunny snow season? I mean don't rub my nose in it but has it been great? @Scott No Mates has it been awesome or is the best to come?

It hasn't been too bad a season - not the worst on record at least.

Very little snow early in the season - the first decent falls didn’t arrive until late June then the storm hung around for a while bringing snow depths to a metre pretty quickly opening up Ruined Castle, the Summit & Inter, pretty rare for the 1st July.

Overall temps have been reasonably warm with too many days the wrong side of zero :(

The high temps, mixed with good snow bearing systems failed to provide and delivered a fair bit of clear stuff before it turned white and fixed the damage.

Snow base got up to 130cm and is still sitting over 110cm atm.

Conditions are softening with the last few days of high temps and more clear stuff. At least it turned into 15cm of fresh wet snow overnight :)

This week looks good and should be great for some early spring turns - try to catch up with Steve Lee for a back country tour outside of the Falls Creek boundaries/on Mt Mackay or do some alpine touring with Macca.

The warmth will soon affect the north facing slopes ut the majority of the runs at Falls are south facing and will hold up well until the end of the season.

The next week looks like t-shirt weather with beautiful sunny days. Linky

Fantastic! Off to Hotham tomorrow, let's see what happens. Staying in Omeo and looking forward to blue skies and plenty of snow.
