This is a comment I made on one of @Rixter's thread 'This Is How I purchased My Interstate Investment Properties'. Well.. that is what I exactly did. 1. Got friendly with @D.T. Found out that despite of his posts, he is actually a decent bloke 2. Got his advice on the location which suits my strategy 3. Researched on the web (well... simply the RE website) and gave him a list of properties to inspect. He gave me a written report and his opinion. I paid him for each. 4. Made a fair offer and got the deal done. Here are the numbers: Suburb median price $290K. Renting for $270 pw. Advertised for 250K. Bought it for 235K. Few people here would be able to make better deals.... but I think it is a good deal for a 'desktop investor' It is fair to say that, this wouldn't have happened if I didn't have @D.T. to guide me. So... thanks buddy.
