About to embark on a bathroom Renovation in a Melbourne IP. This will require a new subfloor and the property is on stumps.

Looking for expertise and experiences with tiled shower bases vs plastic moulded ones. Is one more durable and long lasting than the other?

My gut tells me that the plastic ones are more durable given there's no tile grout lines which could later be compromised.

My sister installed a moulded shower base. Had trouble with leaks where the plumbing joined into the base of the shower tray.

Replaced it with a tiled base.

    Tiled if done properly

Things can seep into moulded plastic, leaving with stains and smells over time.
