Anyone plan to invest in SHIBa INU (SHIB) crypto coin?

Very popular and trending. They are releasing their own DEF exchange which has potential

There's too many dog crypto coins, are there any cat crypto coins you can recommend? That's where I'll be INVESTING my hard earned money if a cute and funny one comes along. I like cats

    I have some Shib.
It was pure luck that made me buy it at the right time (my friend's dentist told him to buy it, so I had to, haha.). My best ever "investment".
I bought less than $1k of the stuff. If I would have sold at the peak, I would have made $200k. But I missed the peak and sold about three quarters for my holding for $72k. Nice little profit.
I'm still holding some to see what happens with shibaswap. Definitely not advice!

SHIB was a (speculative) buy months ago.. it's very late now. NFA, just my opinion DYOR etc.

Best not to buy into stuff that's already pumped, especially when there's loads of bagholders that missed selling that will dump on increases. Also currently it's $4 billion market cap - no way its worth that much.

If you're into gambling then yeah, or just price action trading with risk management. But as an investment it's madness.

Get into good projects with good teams, low market cap that haven't had a pump yet. If this market goes sideways for much longer all the meme token buyers will lose interest, they're already starting to.

Its not a meme token anymore.

They released their own DEF exchange yesterday Shibaswap which is similar to uniswap, sushi swap..

Day 1 their TLV(total locked value) is 1B USD and for example Sushi Swap TLV is 2.78

Sooo many projects have a DEFI exchange. It's not a selling point in any way.
An AMM is like "would you like fries with that" at McDonalds, 75-90% add it..

In fact forking sushiswap or uniswap is one of the most popular ways to launch a coin on BSC, Polygon, Avax and other EVM compatible chains.

$1bn TVL is way to low to justify a $4bn market cap, that ratio is really bad.
You want TVL to be more than double the market cap, preferably even more (Uniswap is overvalued by this metric too, Sushiswap is better value).

For a 1:1 market cap:TVL ratio it should be a long established blue chip. For 4:1 it's just on another level of being overpriced.

This is all only fundamentals though, and crypto doesn't care about fundamentals in the short term so the price could go anywhere. In a choppy sideways market though with scammy price action currently, I'm staying well away from the risky bets unless it has a tight stop loss and a good reason to think it will go up.

1.5 B in 2 days after launch not bad huh?

I'm not day trading but more of passive investing as their rewards systems in shibaswap is very good.

    1. This thread belongs to "Other Asset classes" and not under "Shares & Funds".

    2. I would be very careful with this project as all the staked funds can be rugged by the developers at any moment. Doesn't mean they will do it but that screams to stay away.

Someone purchased $8,000 of $SHIB last August.

    It's now worth $5.7 billion.

From $8,000 to $5.7 billion in roughly 400 days.
