    Hopefully talk turns into OUTCOMES
    At least the M1 work has already begun.

    • $2.7 billion to upgrade the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast;
    • $1.2 billion for six projects to bust congestion on the M1 Pacific Motorway between
      Brisbane and the Gold Coast;
    • $1.1 billion to construct the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing;
    • $902 million to increase the efficiency of Brisbane’s motorway network by building the
      Gateway Upgrade North and;
    • $390 million to duplicate the North Coast Rail Line between Beerburrum and
      Landsborough and provide further improvements to Nambour
    • $300 million to support better public transport via the Brisbane Metro;
    • $207 million to support construction of Stage 2 (Gold Coast University Hospital to
      Helensvale), and Stage 3A (Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads) of the Gold Coast
      Light Rail project;
    • $200 million for additional lanes on the Ipswich Motorway between Rocklea and Oxley;
    • $170 million for critical safety upgrades at the Yamanto and Amberley intersections
      with the Cunningham Highway; and
    • $20 million for safety and congestion works along Bribie Island Road.

    Then on top of this...

    1. Queen's Wharf

    One Major project is Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is set to attract new visitors and investment as it reconnects the activity of Brisbane’s defining parts of the city like the Botanic Gardens, the Queen Street Mall, the Cultural Precinct, South Bank, the Parliamentary Precinct and the Brisbane River.

    At $3 billion the project will deliver over 1,000 hotel rooms across five hotels, a residential precinct of 2,000 units, a 100 metre sky deck, 50 bars and restaurants and a pedestrian bridge connection to Southbank.

    It is being delivered by Star Entertainment Group, Far East Consortium (Australia) and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises in order to facilitate the planning and delivery of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Integrated Resort Development, and is expected to create more than 2000 construction jobs and 8000 ongoing employment opportunities when the Integrated Resort Development is operational in 2022.

    Queen’s Wharf will include:

    - Five new hotels– including premium brands like the Ritz Carlton

    - Three residential towers

    - A new department store

    - About 50 food and beverage outlets

    - A riverfront moonlight cinema

    - A Queensland Hotel and Hospitality School in partnership with TAFE Queensland.

    2. Brisbane Metro 1d27f795c0d57fa06155da49ebbe40a16bcb5422-720.jpeg

    Still under the approval and funding processes, this $944 million development initiative proposes a high frequency, high capacity public transport system along a 21km route servicing 18 stations.

    3. Brisbane live

    “Brisbane Live!” an open-air precinct like Melbourne’s Federation Square, would be built above the existing Roma St rail lines under the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority in partnership with AEG Ogden’s Harvey Lister.

    The business case is expected to take approximately 6 months to complete and will assist the Queensland government in determining whether value-for-money can be achieved by developing the Brisbane Live proposal.

    One good indicator this is going ahead is that the QLD gov bought out Hotel Jen on this site and closed the hotel.

    What point are you trying to make? Some more roads get widened. Might make commuting easier in 3 years time.

    Well I guess it depends on whether or not you believe new infrastructure is one of many drivers of a cities capital growth profile

    Some would argue it's an important factor ;-)

    Good times for SEQ next three years. Should see solid growth, hopefully in the 5-8% PA range for certain pockets of BCC.

    The retention of Pangai Junior will probably be a bigger factor.
