    Hi there,

Going through the selling process and at beginning and had a few questions as this is new to me.

I have found a conveyancer through recommendations on the site.

What I wanted to know is this -

    1) Do people have the agency agreement sighted by the conveyancer / solicitor or do you not do this at all?

    2) Is it common practice for conveyancers not to offer the service of reviewing agency agreements?

    Thanks for any help.

Conveyancing relates to property law, agency agreement falls under contract law which the conveyancer cannot advise.

Thanks makes sense and is it common place for the agency agreements to be reviewed by a solicitor or are they general in nature?

Hardly anyone does but do what makes you feel comfortable.

Most agents will generally use a standard REI agreements which are fairly general, by all means get a solicitor to review the authority but would you also get your solicitor to review every contract you sign (e.g. Energy, Gas, Phone, Foxtel, Internet etc?) but do what makes you feel comfortable.
