Seeking help for retail building split titles

    Hi experts,

    Currently co-own a 3-storey retail building in Greensborough, Vic with family members and wanting to
    split up the title into 3 or more separate titles, due to some family feud situation.

    Do I need to go to a building surveyor specialising in commercial property for such exercise? At the
    minimum want to be able to assess the feasibility of it.

    I'd suggest a chat with @lixas4 for starters. It will require a DA for the subdivision as well as possible BCA upgrades for compliance. You'll require a strata plan identifying common areas, designated parking and each 'unit', possibly also easements for services. A solicitor may also be required to consider any matters which cannot be prepared by the surveyor.
