Ridge capping on 2 storey - Sydney

Hi All, anyone have a reasonable person who does roof work in Sydney ?

Need too get a quote for ridge capping on 2 storey place.

Can't give you a recommendation yet since I'm getting it done next week but I did just get a bunch of quotes which might help you compare. My house is two storey but has single storey access at the rear from a patio/deck which the roofers liked.

Best quote I got was $1,000 (inc GST) which was for re-pointing and replacing a couple of broken tiles with ones I already had, plus I bargained in clearing gutters and fixing my chimney (just needs a few screws) for the same price. Another firm who seemed reputable enough offered to beat it by 10% for the work.
Others I got were $1,550 and $2,280. All had similar warranty/guarantee periods.

 

Thanks Louise, they are pretty good quotes, ours are far more than that, but is an old roof.....and all 2 storey.

I had 1 response to an ad and they did a no show......

 

I got a couple of quotes off hipages but the best two quotes I got were looking for local roofers on Gumtree. They both said it's a half day job so I guess they could squeeze two in if they work in their area which allows for better pricing.
I'm a bit suspicious though as they guy I chose I was chasing him up for his insurance for a while and when he sent it you could see he bought it an hour earlier. Lots of good reviews though so fingers crossed.
Similarly I was chasing a concreter up who was meant to do work tomorrow he admitted he hadn't paid his premium this month so it wasn't valid. No thanks...

 

i re-did my ridge capping myself, took me 3 days. Probably cost me $250.

i downloaded the Australian standards for roofing and read it and youtube.
