One of my IP had a few electrical problems including oven stop working, so I get my PM to send an electrician to fix them all at once to save call-out fee.

PM reply saying electrician doesn't deal with appliance, need to send an appliance specialist instead....What's the difference?

The appliance specialist has access to the parts that will be needed for that specific brand of oven

If they can order the part, they should be able to fix it. Unless its a gas oven or something very obscure and specific. Find a new sparky

That said, fixing is usually not cheap and its often best to replace the oven. Good condition near new ones can be had for not much $$$ on gumtree/ebay etc. Even brand new units are cheap from Bunnings. You will get warranty and peace of mind that it won't happen again

I have had my unfair share of oven/stove problems in my time.

The PM should have checked to see if the electrician fixed stoves before sending the person out. Unfortunately, you (probably again) get left holding the bag - or the bill :(

lol....they did not want to do the job, as above, don't send the wrong person, if you suggested the electrician, then your prob going to wear it.

Agree with Simon below unless it is something obscure or specific you need to find a new electrician.

Our electrician is terrific, if he can source the parts he will fix the problem and he is reasonably priced.
