Hey all, anyone with recent experience getting the ATO Clearance certificate? We're settling a property soon and the certificate has not come through yet. Anyone with recent experience on turnaround times with the ATO lately?

I know their website says 'up to 28 days' but kind of wanted real feedback on the timeframes...

14-21 min days is normal but with crazy market at present I expect they are puishing to 28 days. How much time didnt you allow ? They can be applied for PRIOR to a sale and are valid 12 months. They recommend you allow "AT LEAST 28 days". Day 28 is their final expected date and may happen on that date.

They do warn dont leave it too long. If the vendors havent complied with lodgements it wont be given clearance and may take longer for a refusal to come through. One issue can be if each owner didnt apply this can delay matters and will pose a problem for one owner. Then they must lodge their tax return to be credited the 12.5%
