I have rattling noise in my investment property roof at night, suspect it’s possums or rats, how to get rid of it? Who to call?

If there are holes, it needs to be patched

In aall seriousness, find some local well reviewed pest control companies and get quotes to check it out

Possibly the plumbing - thermal movement or it may be water hammer ET from washing machine or turning taps on or off too quickly.

    lol

Only happens at night so could it really be plumbing?

Do the pest guys patch the roof as well if there are any holes? No point getting the pet control in when after they leave another bugger sneaks in

Change in water pressure, cooling in roofspace, missing brackets

They don't leave baits for no reason ;)

It could also be a carpet snake going after the rats..

Or just have a plumber pressure test the system that way the plumbing side is covered .. imho..

I also had thumping in the roof at night which disappeared after getting dogs. Probably possums and will need the hole patched up.

Where is the property? We have a great possum (and snake) man who does a good job, doesn't charge the earth and treats the possums as they are meant to be treated by law.

Find a pest man who deals with larger animals in roof cavities. They'll do the small works needed to seal with roof, bait, trap, etc.

Get up in the roof space and check the droppings. Anything living up there will be pooping up there.

Take photos and check online for the type of critter it is. Buy a cage trap and after its caught plug up the holes.

Fire up the barbie and invite some friends over lol.

We had rats. The pest guy had to come out twice to get rid of them.

The rats we had were trying out for the Olympics in track and field.

They'll no longer be able to poop once you plug up their holes

lol Plug up any holes in the roof where these critters are getting in.

A friend reckoned his dog was getting up in the ceiling at night coz when he yelled "where are you ol' mutt" , the dog would bark " roof, roof".
