Can I ask what requires for Air conditioner supplier and installer in Queensland? Tradie has to wire electricity and install air conditioner in my IP but he said that we provide an inactive QBCC licence and a licence from his worker. He also does not supply the Compliance Certificate after the job is done.

Can you clarify me how to select a air con tradie? what should I check them before engaging the tradies?

Go to the Fair trading website & look up "licence check". Should be the same in Qld.

It's called an ARC licence, they don't actually need a QBCC licence as the work is not classed as "building work" even though quotes may exceed $3,300. Electrical contractors have their own type of licence, again outside the scope of the QBCC.

To safeguard your interests, request a copy of their ARC/Electrical Contractors Licence, and also a Certificate of Currency with their quotes.

    Thanks
The tradie said they will not provide Compliance Certificate but we will write Compliance in the invoice. Is it normal practice in Queensland?

Yeah, unless there is a statuatory form, their licence + letter is it basically.

My trade person who installs air con gave me Licensed Electrical Contractor Queensland license number.

Where / how / which URL do I can look up the licence number?

is it ok if he has no ARC licence?
