    Hi,
Looking for a PM . Does the PM need to be working in the area? How common is it to have a PM looking after a property from another suburb.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Hi @AnneC, I'd be amazed if there is a Property Manager that JUST looks after a property in their own suburb. Often a fair distance away actually, which is not ideal as there is a bit of travel involved. It is not a problem though, as to be honest most things are at our fingertips these days or at the end of the phone.

Regarding a Property Manager in East Brighton, one of my properties is in Carnegie (which I think is close to you) and my property manager is in Oakleigh. The agency is called Just Rentals. They have pretty good over a number of years. If you are starting from scratch, my suggestion is to call up or email a few agencies and you'll see quickly who is responsive. In my experience, smaller, independent boutique agencies that specialise in property management are your best bet. I hope that helps...
