I've recently inspected a property with records showing that a residential units complex on the property was built over/adjacent to the sewer main with approval and it is required to maintain records for a max. of 25 years.

How would this information impact on your decision of purchasing the property?

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

The strata would likely have installed pits and covers and left access available to the relevant authority according to the easement requirements. Its a strata issue. Often under the driveway.

Legal / town planner advice relating to the title diagram may identify this

No impact at all. I’ve purchased many like this. The last one in Petersham in Sydney’s Inner West had the same. Investigations found sewer line 20 meters below ground level and sitting in sandstone.

Thanks @Propertunity. The property was built in the last 60s. I was wondering

    • If maintainance/upgrade is required, how likely would it disturb the property?
    • If there are any restrictions for future development or reno?
