If you don't have any any moral issues with profiting from war, what are some stocks to invest in. Is Lockheed Martin, Huntington Ingalls and SAIC relevant atm, or do these only benefit when the US goes to war

Most already had war priced in or will open very high. Most shares will drop 4-5% overnight so good idea to load up on long term positions.

It would drop the hardest at the open .. I am expecting 10% and then it will start recovering. If it dropped more than 10%, then I will be worried about lot of other things including Australian economy and house prices.

Fill your gas tanks tonight .. crude oil is going up already and we could see gas prices well over $2 here very soon.

I've been shorting quite a few technology stocks for 3 months now and....even though I said I wouldn't, bitcoin as well.

I see a lot more market dips before recovering.

Tech would shed lot of post covid gains which were very speculative anyways. I am 30% down on my US portfolio which is mostly tech so I am sure you have made a lot of gains shorting US stocks.

I have..but sorry to hear of those (paper) losses. Investing can suck at times.

I remember people offering 400k less than market value for my Brisbane place at the start of covid. I held on to sell later. But I know many people who sold at massive loses at the time.

Thanks - but honestly paper losses don’t worry me at all. I probably won’t sell those shares for a very long time and with all ups and downs I am still 400% up in last 5 years. I really don’t have much of a plan at the moment other than just occasional accumulation so happy to see another opportunity coming up for some accumulation.

Not sure I can get my head around war profiteering.
Both sides of my family 'lost' everything in wars...

Looks like gold has up to over $1900 an ounce US.
