Private Messaging Users

    Hi there,

    I'm relatively new here so please bear with me. I've been through all the threads about messaging people. When I click a user's profile, I can't see "start new conversation", nor can I see an option in my inbox. Can someone help me out here? Do I need to interact so much to get access to this feature, or do I need to enable something in my back end settings?

    When I clicked on your username, I got a summary of your profile. One of the links said, "Start a conversation".

    Some users may not permit direct messaging, and I'm not sure, but there may also be restrictions on new members sending direct messages.

    Some folks get bombarded with so many PMs asking tons of questions which can't be answered quickly and is often inconsiderate to the person they're messaging. So some use the privacy settings to help reduce this from happening.

    You need to be a user for awhile or have a certain number of posts before you are allowed to private message people but I can't remember the number

    We recently introduced a new anti-spam measure where new members can't post PMs.

    Once you've been a member for a while and posted enough times, you will automatically be granted rights to send PMs.
