Yeah. Had the same issues... our island is 2700 x 1540. Had to allow 80mm (40mm each side )for mitred edges as well.

Ceasarstone is only 1440 mm wide.

Smartstone is stunning but not "quite" wide enough @ 1600mm width

Quantum Quartz is also not quite wide enough

Neolith is 3200 x 1500 so while its absolutely bulletproof against heat, stains and chipping, it would have restricted us to 1420 width

Laminam was chosen as its 3240 x 1620. Like Neolith, its also pretty bulletproof to UV, stain and chips

I love Laminam. I really wanted a "marble" benchtop in my kitchen but it seems I'm married and I can't always get my way. Waaaaaahhhh :(

It's a large home, but not quite infinite amounts of floorspace :)

Screed... done. Will leave to cure for a few days. Waterproofer will apply top coat to prevent any efflorescence . Hope to start tiling early next week.

Good that you haven't gone too faddy on the tiles. Remember when mosaic tiles were all the rage, and glass kitchen splashbacks - that was only 6/7 years ago.

There are 2 coats of membrane in every bathroom, plus a 3rd coat on top of the screed.

I just used your paint colour scheme in a 60's fibro house out west (the Casper against Vivid white). Looks great. Thanks @euro73!
