That's council land right? I had one of those out front, and one day I came home and it was gone. I was pleased. It's presence didn't turn me off though.

Better if it's not there, but not a huge issue for me

Depends on market, that power pole right on the line with the front door is not good Feng shui.
    Otherwise no issue I guess?

i am starting to think it is more than 20% into the block. it looks like it is more than closer to 35%

This would not turn me off, what would turn me off is high voltage power lines.

BTW, find out if its earmarked for underground power?? Just a thought

How is it into the block?
The land you're buying is what's within that picket fence.

It would just be a bit of a hassle when mowing the nature strip, that's all.

That pole is 10% outside the block of land.

just didn't like the frontage having a pole in front of the block. (might scare off some potential buyers in the future).

    That's an easy fix.
Just take marketing pics standing between the pole and the house.

Walk down the street. How many houses have power poles out in front of them? I'd suggest a large percentage?

I just went outside and looked at our street - I estimate at least half of the power poles were in front of someone's property (ie not at the boundary between two properties or on a street corner or anything). I had really never paid attention to it before.

This street has properties with a median value of around $2m ... nobody seems to care - at least not that I've ever noticed.

How many other properties on the street have power poles on the verge/nature strip? I'm sure there are plenty and I think it's what people would expect in any area that doesn't have underground power.

It could also be less of an eyesore if you planted some shrubs along the fence line, maybe even see whether you're allowed to plant anything on the nature strip (small natives?).

Are you sure that poll is not too big and too hard to use? $5 per lesson?

Just make sure the pole dancers don't go too high up the pole...otherwise they may be in for the shock of their lives.
