    Pool shop guy believes that sandstone can also go into pool if heavy rain so use some sealer to paint the area

    I reckon your pool is similar to ours insofar as the planting behind your rock wall, like our planting behind a block back wall only is likely to wash dirt into the pool in a really heavy storm.

    We've had this happen two or three times in nearly 20 years. The same storms washed bark chip and dirt and blew the motor on our sliding gate and we had to dig out the dirt before being able to get out of our driveway.

    These storm events are unusual.
