All good - happy to chip in - depending on your likes etc - also suggest Mt Tamborine/Tamborine mountain in Gold Coast hinterland - views & check out some waterfall walks,
Of course some early beach walks & a cafe for bf/brunch could work but there’s lots more to google or TripAdvisor can help.
I’m sure many can chip in and answer questions you might have.
    Enjoy the experience.

The National Parks are still there, they haven't been bulldozed to make way for condos.

Hopefully the weather is cooler when I'm there in a month. Last time I went in Jan and the heat was intolerable ...

The weather was really pleasant - afternoon breeze kept it cool.

I’d stay well clear of Surfers.. it’s disgusting.. actually, I think most of gc is. It’s full of bikies and druggies.
At the Hilton, A friend’s kids recently found a bag of meth in a garden next to the pool area. Apparently Hilton has some permanent residents and some very unsavoury characters amongst them.
The gc hinterland is nice though :)
For beaches I’d stick to the sunny coast.

When at the GC, we always stay at Broadbeach. Heading there again next week. Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance, without being as crowded as Surfers. Also good beach access and great playground for little ones. Also very close to Pacific Fair. I don't like to shop but the ease and convenience of eating at the foodcourt there is great with young kids. Nice open air seating area with good quality food options.

So is the southern end of the GC, say south of Burleigh.
Nah, I like Kirra the best.

Well mostly going to GC so Abbey can play on sea World and movie world. Then off to Noosa. We'll probably spend some time further south. Sunshine coast has some nice places too.

We'll probably end up GBR way at the end. Hope the coral is doing better.

If you stay on Tamborine Mountain, and GC goes into lockdown (and Brissy etc) you are fine cos you are in Scenic Rim (by a whisker). Close to the theme parks (as close as Surfers is to theme parks). And not too hot.

Had a bit of rain but that has now all flowed away :)
