Have things stabilized their yet or are they still heading south?
Whats happening with rent (can u actually get a tenant?)

    Cheers,

Just had a quick look at rental vacancies for both on realestate.com.au. No specifying criteria (eg. number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms), just rental vacancies.
    Vacancies in Karratha: 4
    Vacancies in Port Hedland: 72

Take from that what you will.

    Wiuldnt take much from that,
Real fugures are Karratha 194 and PH 72
Karratha is made up of sbout 6 or 7 suburbs so you cant just search the town name.
South hedland vacancy is very high but PH vacsncy has decreased 20% in past couple of months

I guess you would be buying for cash flow if it takes too long to rent then it may be a risky proposition
I started a thread on mining towns and % they have dropped you may be interested in this thread

Highly speculative so only consider if you can afford to loose!
