PI or IO

    Hi all

    Interested to here peoples opinions and case studies on this, under current conditions you pay a higher rate for IO then PI, probably 0.4-0.5 % on average. I will be ready to by an investment property in a 2-3 years and wondering what people generally do. Interest only seems the obvious choice because I am not a high income earner and it may be hard to keep the property if negatively geared. But the rate is higher, if my math is right 0.4 % would be an extra $1000 interest paid per year on a 250 k mortgage but its just extra deductions I guess
