For keeping petrol receipts for tax, when paying with a card, the service station attendant usually asks "do you want a receipt" and if you say "yes", they just give you the receipt of the credit card payment. Is this sufficient for the ATO or should the service station be giving an additional tax receipt to the customer?

    Does it say 'petrol'?

If not you could be going in and buying donuts...

Lol I just checked. Yes it does say the petrol bought on them and it does say "Tax Invoice" and has the ABN of the servo so I guess they are all good, even if some of the receipts are tiny pieces of paper.

The OP should be rephrasing the question:

'If Homer fills up the El Dorado at the service station and receives a receipt for fuel, does this suffice as a tax invoice provided it has the ABN, date, invoice number, states "Tax Invoice", items purchased etc'.

Are travel expenses to an IP claimable (I thought these were knocked on the head a few years ago 2016/17 Budget)?

Travel is no longer claimable for residential property unless in the business of property or a company owner

Depending on the software/POS at the petrol station mine give me a pretty generic one which says Petrol as a line item and is a till receipt not the eftpos machine receipt. The bigger places (BP, Caltex etc) receipt has a lot more information and will say what type of fuel (diesel, petrol) which pump, the price per litre and a total

The eftpos receipt is useless, the tax receipt from the till/POS system is the one you need.
