Some other venue options that might be worth considering (only because I have some familiarity with the venues):

• UQ (Schonell) event rooms, St Lucia
  
• Glen Hotel, Eight Mile Plains

Both have free parking (UQ is free on weekends), room/s to suit 50 with desks, are within about 15-20 mins drive from the city, and should have pretty decent food (though I can't speak from direct personal experience of their event catering).

It's $410 - EventBrite takes quite a cut too so I added on the $10 to make it the same price as the Sydney Event.

I'd looked at his workshops some time ago, and realised that they were always in Sydney, so I figured I'd never get to go to one (unless I wanted to pay for the airfares, taxi/Uber etc). And goodness knows if he'd ever put Brisbane on his itinerary again - so I think I'd be crazy to miss this opportunity.

 

Agree. He's only doing this event because I asked him to do it!!

I've been offered another role in my team at work, I suppose "same-same but different", but at the same time there's a role in another part of the business I really want... that role is not mine yet though so it's currently under wraps. The good thing is, while an employee isn't allowed do fancy daily share trading being part of that part of the bank (because you'd have insider knowledge), share investing for long term.... go right ahead.

Good thing about the bank, I had a friend/colleague move into the home buying team maybe 6 months ago. And back then, home loans would have been a cool area for me to move into, being a property investor.

But now... I'm focusing in shares

Anyway, I have a job, 2x airbnb host, event hosting, volleyball team captain x2 (both teams successful!!!), volleyball competition manager and I'm doing chinese classes too..... packed schedule. Just enough to keep me on my toes.

Just a reminder this event is on not this weekend but the weekend after on the 8th April. Now, the venue wants confirmed numbers a week out from the event so they can organise catering, so if you were thinking about it, I'd really encourage booking asap.
