    Happy new year all.

Just throwing it out there to see what interest there is if Peter Thornhill was to present in Melbourne this year?

Speaking to @Gockie, it may be able to be organised depending on the interest. I'm not sure what numbers are needed to secure him or anything, but thought I'd ask the question and let her know.

@Gockie had already put out a call (3 Jan) on FB in the Dividend group canvassing interest. There was definitely interest, no details of a date yet.

That's great, I'm glad there is interest, I really want to take my wife along. I've got her to read the book over the xmas holidays and want the momentum to continue.

Hopefully some more interest is sparked on here for those who aren't on FB.

    Sounds good.
Looks like he'll be doing 4 courses this year according to his email.

** still hoping he makes his way down south this year **

I should be able to make the March one. I'd like to bring my wife along so she gets a better understanding of the strategy.

Do it. I took my noob partner along and she loved it. Admittedly she didn't understand all the lingo, but his holy grail graph (my avatar) was very simple, yet powerful.

We can be pretty sure what he will have to say about THAT! It's sure to lure a few more people in.
I wonder why he even holds these seminars - he would hardly be getting rich out of them.
    Edit - typo

Little extra coin to top up the holdings can’t hurt ;)

Knowing Peter I’d suggest it’s more to do with philantropy.

How would a working example of the below from Peter work out?

i.e. say AFI or ARG, trying to work out the numbers?

You can enter dummy trades into sharesight, backdated 12 months for the size position you are interested in calculating. It will then calaculate the dividends for you and there is also an option for DRP. Alternatively back-date the position 5 years and you'll get a picture of dividend return each year.

Also perhaps more easily done with the sharesight sharechecker feature: ( although interface would have changed since this 2014 example ):
