Hey Tony, that's correct. It would be impossible to pull it out of a PDF, I can only do websites. Whilst this method isn't 100% correct, it's still a decent indicator.

Marcus, are you able to add a column called ‘Indicative NTA’ and enter the Nodrog formula from the LIC guide. I think you need:
    1. LIC stated NTA ( you have this already)
    2. Current and EOM XOJ - you could get this from ASX as easily as you get the LIC share price
I think this would be really useful
    Thanks

Okay so the issue I'm having is that I can pull in the current XOJ price, but I'm going to run into issues with EoM XOJ updating automatically.

The ASX has the prices here, but when we get to 2019 it'll be a new table, and the price will stop updating. So we either have to find somewhere on the internet that just updates a field that says something like "XOJ last month closing price" or we have to put that in manually each time we want to check out the premium/discount.

Okay sorry for the triple post but I've made the requested changes to now show Interim Discount/Premium to NTA which is more accurate and I've also changed the calculation method which makes the discount/premium easier to read!

The only downside as mentioned above is that the XOJ EoM price needs to be copy-pasted in once a month, or whenever you need to check the numbers! Cheers for the suggestion.

No problem! I didn't find the guide specifically, but found some other posts on here with the calculations :).

Nodrog it might be best to start a new thread for your guide, that way you can just upload there and point people in that direction. Would be easier for people to find the last version too.

As Milton is core to my dividend portfolio, my curiosity was piqued by this week's email from Milton about their acquisition of an unlisted investment company. Being rather new (compared to the rest of you all) to all this does anyone know any more details about this acquisition other than the non-specifics in the email?

I was wondering the same thing. The email was very vague.

They tend to do them every now and then.

I think it’s just a cost effective way to increase their portfolio. Cheaper to buy in one swoop than pay brokerage on $30m of purchases.

I’m not sure if these acquisitions are purchased by Milton at fair market value or perhaps a slight discount.

Maybe some of the long term holders can shed some more info... @Nodrog @SatayKing
