Thanks guys. It was fun and nice to meet you all - well I missed a lot as I didn't get around to everybody but I enjoyed the chat.

Agree. A fabulous night and great to meet everyone.

The stretch-target for the next Perth Meetup is for it to party on until 2am like the Wentworthville meetups often do.

You'd need to find a place that is open until 2am and Perth is just a country town :p To get the mix of a quieter place where you can hear conversations they tend not to stay open until very late.

I shall have to get over for a Wenty meet up.

Lovely to meet a few new faces and you of course @wombat777

@squad_1881 I hope I've got username to person right - with your big windows on the barn what about doing more sliding barn doors on the outside to shade them in summer? That would maintain the shape but provide sun protection

Thanks for that Westminster, this option was also discussed in the office few times during the process, hence the final conclusion was to use hinged shutters with perforated laser cut screens. The main reasons to go with this route was the strict fire protection requirements when building in bushfire prone areas, otherwise I would have prefer sliders as well.

Yeah the sliders would leave a gap for embers etc. You'd have a pretty high BAL there. I'm building in swan valley and my BAL is pretty low at 20 but we are following most high BAL things just in case - but they also make sense from a security and maintenance point of view - ie powdercoated steel instead of timber as it needs less maintenance.
