Best news today……..booking tickets to see my daughter in Melb

Perth opening borders is also great news for investors.

    I only see blue sky…..

Perth housing market will continue to rise, I have no doubt about this. We have strongest economy in Oz. We need 55,000 workers

More people coming over to visit, jobs, lifestyle change and returning home from abroad, means there will be further tightening of housing stock. Rents will continue to increase. Low vacancy rate already 0.07%. Its going to be great to be a landlord

Should've opened up with the other states. I mean it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Once they open, Omicron is gonna do its thing. How is March 3 'safer' than Jan 3 (or Dec 3 for that matter)?

Time to visit my IP in Perth. Just to make sure it's still there.

Once the other states/the Feds adopted a 'let it rip' mentality, going for zero COVID was non sensical. I mean, I'm surprised the public put up with it tbh.

The difference in those extra 4 weeks from 5th Feb to 3rd March is that (as of today):
    - 54% of WA people 16 and over have had a booster
    - 45% of kids 5-11 have had their first dosage
    - numbers of infected people in Sydney/Melb that can now travel here quarantine free has reduced considerably

Over the next 2 weeks it will get even higher and probably be at 70% boostered and some kids will have second doses. Those numbers will save more lives.

I'd rather be in a car crash at 20km an hour than 80km an hour. That's all they are trying to do - decrease hospitalisations and deaths.

Many of us have had the chance to have our booster vaccinations in the last few weeks. We were unable to do that before. Our family and friends are very grateful for that. Cheers, Zizi

For us that have a family member less than five years old, and therefore not being able to be vaccinated, it makes absolute sense to keep them as safe as possible for as long as possible. No monetary rewards or missed holidays could ever make up for seeing your young family members, or anyone else's suffering Covid. Cheers, Zizi

Because of higher vaccination rates. Simples.

Screenshot_20220223-065138_Drive.jpg Well Westpac thinks that Perth is going to drop for the next couple of years.
So what's really going to go on is it going to drop for a few years and then bounce back better than other places?
No denying that the median is low but certainly if there was a huge economic boom in Perth in the pipeline why would Westpac be saying it's going to drop?

I have just bought in Perth on the basis that it's been flat for a quite a long time and that it has a low median (so worst case scenario it's going to be less affected by price drops then knows that really pumped like Sydney Melbourne) those were the things that pushed me and I will say also because some of the more seasoned investors on here are focusing on Perth so I'm prepared to kind of follow them also.

In terms of sentiment in Perth, the market seems to be pretty hot there's just not much stock and when there is a listing it is selling at the first open in fact people are trying to buy it before it opens.
Competition from owner-occupiers as well as buyer's agents.
Average time on market is very low.
Right now prices are definitely rising no doubt at all.
