    Hi,

currently doing a bit of forward planning with the hope of shortlisting locations on the sunshine coast for an eventual move in around 10 years. The plan would be to buy a house on land above 500 sqm spending around 700k. We would rent this out until we plan to move to QLD and either renovate or build from scratch. Hopefully looking to buy in around 2 years.

We are currently liking Peregian Springs but would love any insight on the area or even any over suggestions for areas with good potential for our plans. Property will be ideally close to the beach and either have a pool or enough land to build one.

    thanks!

Keen to hear any thoughts on peregian springs too :)

Have you ended up buying here?
Prices look so high for what the area has to offer, it’s not possible to walk anywhere, you basically have to drive to go to beach or shops or anywhere at all.

Keen to understand why prices are so high and if it’s a good investment area at all or better to avoid.

Have you seen the prices of nearby suburbs, in terms of comparing similar houses (not just medians)? This is why PS is expensive. But I think it’s has gone pretty crazy over the past 6 months also. Some prices are rather cringe-worthy. If you want a new build surrounded by other new builds then it’s the place to be. I much prefer Peregian Beach but it obviously comes at a higher price.

It's a good place for a family I'd say. Small lots and many of them are part of a complex with BC fees for their community centre and pool.

Yes you have to drive everywhere, but it seems common on the coast - if you live in Sunrise / Sunshine Beach you don't have a supermarket etc and even getting coffee can be a trek if you're on the back side
