I agree with both statements. I would like to hope and believe that those of Muslim faith do not suffer the same fate of blanket racism as experienced after 9/11 and continues today...i.e. racial profiling......but a community of people who are essentially attacked when they do not hold extremist views and wise enough to take the lessons of living good and decent lives.....put everything else aside because it is no longer valid.

I don't want to attack anyone's religious beliefs.

I was raised a Catholic ......but see myself as a Christian. I take the parts of bible that align with my beliefs in equal measure with being skeptical of the institutions and traditional practices that make no sense and are in conflict with both modern society as well as the original intent of ancient scribes.

And know that most Muslims want to live the same way. In peace and harmony.

Still big difference is the role model. Jesus didnt go around slaughtering his enemies. Mohamad did.

I dont agree with any religion mind you. Mohamad is more like king david in the old testament. But no christians try to model their lives off of king david.

Although christians have still managed to be incredibly violent in the name of their religion. Even though they have their hippy role model.

Through heart and minds of wanting better.

It's about trying to force our ideals upon others........rather than saying who cares. Just live the best way you can....and balancing that with trying to best protect yourself from people who don't share the same values or the best for and from the community that you live in.

So am I but I don't like the term.
It's not a belief system, its simply not believing in something without evidence.
I accept people's right to believe in anything but I don't respect it.
In any other area of life we don't accept people's beliefs or opinions, we examine the evidence and if it stacks up we will agree with their conclusions.
    The word 'faith' isn't required.

I was due to be in Paris for the Airbnb open (along with 6000 other hosts). I'm glad some stuff came up and I avoided the chaos.

It's unfortunate to see humanity going through teething issues in its transition out of the bronze age into a modern era, but these atrocities again highlight how much work is still to be done in quashing the absolute horrors people with poisonous beliefs are capable of doing.

Also, I implore everyone to refer to these attacks as what they are: RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM (not terrorism). It is incredibly frustrating when the media and public mis-label these horrors and avoid addressing the issue itself.

The more we keep believing in separation - that we are different and that there is an "us and them" and that we are divided by our values and beliefs and religions, the more of this is going to occur around the world.

I am not an atheist and I do not have a religion, I do not label myself as anything except a human being trying to find answers in this world - just like everyone else.

Allowing others to just BE and have any beliefs they want and accept that everyone's journey is different and that everyone is just seeking a higher truth through different vehicles - that would be a great beginning for society towards a more evolved thinking.

Yes. I'm not suggesting it nor condoning it, but seems that's the direction its heading. :(

Absolutely tragic. Could happen anywhere but I don't like where Europe is heading and its probably going to get worse. Extremely fortunate we're in Oz.

Re: ISIS, it's a war we can't win, not in the traditional sense anyway. No amount of bombs and boots on the ground can restore real peace in the ME. It's a war of hearts and minds and I think the only way forward is to yes, surgically go after the hardcore criminals and leaders but broadly, the ME needs to solve it's own problems. Western intervention isn't going to cut it.
