Business Technology Online appointment booking systems - healthcare

    I have a friend who is an occupational physician and is moving away from the GP practice he currently operates out of and will be working from his own consulting rooms.

    He is looking for an online appointment booking system where people can request/manage appointments and have this integrated with his website somehow.

    The one trick with his requirements is that the appointments are often being made by a third party (eg a law firm dealing with workplace related injuries), so it's not just individuals who will need to log in - and this will all need to be tracked.

    Any recommendations or suggestions?

    Not sure if this would work for your friend.

    Our doctor uses HealthEngine. I think its great, pick a time and day to suit myself as all available appointments are on the screen. Click on appointment I want, fill in details, they send a confirmation. Too easy.

    This is not medical specific, but looks like a good way people can book appointments with someone. The business can set available time slots and clients can click and book on the web. This time period will not be available for others to book and you will show up as busy.

    When I was last involved in medical software , " Best practice " , was the best around though don't know if they handle on line bookings . If they don't I'd ask them who to recommend .

    Much better and more responsive company than medical director .
