Hi, I have signed an off the plan contract earlier this year. When I happened to pass by the site, I noticed that the construction has actually commenced (excavation stage). However, I haven’t been formally notified by the vendor or sales agent about the commencement. Is this normal? My solicitor has contacted the vendor to request a formal notification of commencement but the vendor’s solicitor response was to contact the sales agent. From Who do you usually get an update about construction stage?

Quite possible it just the civil works being done, land might not be registered yet, call the land/sales agent to confirm.

are you referring to a new subdivision ?
lots wont be registered until all the conditions of the DA have been met - surveyor has finished the plan and signed - council has signed - mortagees - developer - lodged and registered.
