    thought i would start a thread for those investment companies , that do more than buy a fistful of shares ( buy the entire company , or place directors on the board )

    companies that come to mind are WES , SOL , SVW , GOW

    does anyone have other entrants ???

    there might be some debate if i add MQG to the list ( is it a LIC or a bank ?? )

    You could almost argue most large caps are like that

    not so much now many are simplifying their business ( offloading low margin , capital intensive arms )

    WOW , ORG , most of the large banks as examples
