Plans for tonight? Care to share?

I'm taking the little one to the acquarim today , then a bbq at a friend's place overlooking the harbour.

Evening I'll be on a boat event.

As the temps climb into the 40s, winds expected around 50-90kmh and fire danger is extreme, absolutely nothing but keep the fire hoses ready.

    Maybe some Netflix and champers

Put the champers on standby. You may need it as a last resort to douse the flames although I seriously hope not.

One quiet night in with a couple of other people. According to the news the fireworks in Canberra are not going ahead due to fire risk but I've already been to a few displays so wasn't interested anyway.

More than likely I'll be snoozing well before midnight.

Interest not helped by living in wine country where ... when the weather is more agreeable ... fireworks go off, over the road, every Friday and Saturday night for various weddings.

Makes one rather "yeah whatever" ... but did make all the pets immune to fireworks and thunderstorms

Gathering on the balcony & watch the fireworks over the harbour, take a dozen steps to bed.

Too many local roads are closed so we'd have to walk for a marginally better vantage point.

Will we be able to see the city with the smoke and predicted dust?

We'll have a quiet drink at home then walk down to the beach to see fireworks.

I was dumbstruck this morning, I went to the service station and they were offering bags of ice.

Got around the corner and there was an RBT/MDT bus. Glad that I wasn't stopped.

Apparently the maximum temp at the Brother in Law's farm is 30 today. Cows and horses, dogs, but no firepit.

Church service bringing in the local NY, and then join simulcast to overseas service where they are 3 hours behind so do another NY countdown at 3am local. Then back to simulcast of NY day service / convention around 10am tomorrow,......

The Bible tells us the times of the year / start of seasons are important to celebrate.... the only allowance we make is to adjust to the western calendar (so we'll celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles on July 21st western calendar etc)...

... and we don't do Christmas!

We say that there is nowhere in the Bible where Jesus leaves a message saying "celebrate my birthday".
