NSW Strata Pool safety ?

    any NSW Strata managers here can tell me if a apartment building has s swimming pool shouldnt they have a lifesaving device hanging on the wall you know like a round floating thing or whatever they call them to throw to the drowning person ?

    My friend has a pool in his building and is concerned that nothing is there at all !!!

    I know my building has not only that but a heart defribellator too

    So they have a pool but no lifesaver tube hanging up at all , maybe there not required to in NSW ? Anyone know the answer or where i could find out ?

    He is worried because he witnessed a drowning person recently and luckily another resident entered the pool area to assist otherwise the woman would of drowned.

    His Strata Manager passes the buck onto the part time building manager who doesnt bother replying to him .

    CPR signage, self-closing gate, 1200mm high fencing with bars 100mm apart, adequate supplies of fluffy slippers, towels & dressing gowns.

    Put the question in writing to the body corporate committee.
    This will force a reply.
    If not, attend the next body corporate meeting and ensure your letter is tabled.

    A life buoy? If so, no the body corporate doesn't have to supply one. I've never actually seen one supplied at a unit complex pool unless it is a hotel and even then not all of them.
