Are there any Shoalhaven specific laws to attached Granny flats? We are extending an existing house and looking to attach a granny flat to the end of the garage. This is all going through DA so granny flat approved all in one (not CDC).
Someone told me there needed to be a door between the primary dwelling and secondary dwelling but I cant find any info on that.
Ive attached a plan for reference. Basically private side access from the street to a self contained studio style granny flat with private alfresco area and fire rated wall between it and the primary dwelling.
Any info would be really appreaciated!
    Cheers attached granny.JPG attached secondary.JPG

I still don't know why you would not try for CDC with this? You would not normally have a door between dwellings for a true GF or 2ndary dwelling as they need to be fire separated. If you are doing a DA at council a local consultant is your best bet.
