    I purchased Northside earlier this year. Reasons being:
    - University at Petrie - Another step closer to being confirmed with Council purchasing the land 2 days ago - http://www.couriermail.com.au/quest...mmunity-precinct/story-fni9r1i7-1227448747746

    - Gateway Upgrade North - Nudgee to Bracken Ridge - Contract awarded set to start next year (+$1b)

    - hundreds upon hundreds of townhouses being built in Kallangur / Dakabin (University?)

    - Moreton Bay Rail (+$1b)

    - Ikea/Stratco @ Northlakes

    Its all happening North of Brissy

    True. If you look at a map and measure the distance 20-25kms out you see why:

    West
    5kms out you've already got forest and Mt Cootha, 10kms out bush and mountains

    Northwest
    13kms you're already heading out of Brisbane towards Mt Glorious

    North
    Brighton
    Clontarf
    or
    Strathpine
    Mango Hill

    Northeast
    Airport
    Moreton Bay

    East
    Wellington Point
    Cleveland
    Moreton Bay

    South/Southeast
    Woodridge
    Loganlea

    South
    Browns Plains
    Park Ridge

    Southwest
    Goodna
    New Chum

    Well, maybe it demonstrates more about the South.
    You need to get out 40-45kms before you hit the Northside equivalent of the dodgy South, Morayfield and Cab-town.

    Somewhere near Clontarf or Mango Hill? I'll stop being a detective now ;)
