Good one wylie...lets start a debate about north and south.....just joking!!

I came to QLD in 2004 for a 3 month job and rented a place at Norman Park. It was funny talking to people that you would meet..."are you a northsider or southsider!" Well im actually from Victoria..." yes a bloody Mexican!"

But I loved QLD so much and sold up in Victoria and moved into a IP on the north side and turned that into a PPOR. I married a south sider who now lives with me on the north side.
    Confused?
But deep down this north sider prefers the south side and will migrate one day.

I've been monitoring Strathpine for the last 3-4 months, and it's still quite slow. Definitely keen to see what the next 6-12 months will be like for Strathpine. Have had a look at their precinct plan and it looks good. But be aware of flood areas as there's a fairly decent area affected.

Sandgate Road is not busier than gympie rd. It's much faster.
I live between the two in Wavell

Without starting a north vs south debate it's much slower to drive from the outer north from somewhere like Aspley to the CBD compared to commuting a similar distance from the south side due to it having better arterial roads IMO. Gympie and Sandgate roads are a nightmare in peak hour with an endless stream of traffic lights but much of the greater BN area probably is, the tunnel network should help a little.

I found it worse going on to Gypie/Lutwyche Rd after the first tunnel opened.
Also found it really painful coming from the South, even on the motorway. Bumper to bumper from Springwood in peak hour.

This won't be for everyone but if you want to crunch a few numbers, you have to check out Keperra. 9kms from the CBD, arterial roads, two train lines, schools and plenty of shops. It is a real up and comer for a young family or as an IP. Check it out, you can still buy in the low 400's but you won't be for much longer. Starting to gentrify right now.

    Shhh! ;)
Where can you find a house there for low 400's?
There's hardly any stock on market, and it all goes pretty quick.
