Yum....except being diabetic, there's still too much carb. Reassuring though that there's more options appearing over time.

I don't eat dairy anymore. We found non-dairy ice cream called "Over The Moo", comes in a few flavors The caramel one is ridiculously good. You can get it Woolworths.

And that a major supermarket has the items on their shelves. From the article, it sounds as though they have taken some lessons forward, helping the business grow.

{{metaController.metaData.title}} :D. (this is meant to be a link to Woolies online showing said product)
Looking at the ingredients, could you call it vegan, or because there is an egg allergen, would it exclude it? Anyway, it, along with Fantasia are on my shopping list. Let's see if I can get them....

They're generally a cover-your-arse disclaimer, It's the same as the packages that state "may contain traces of egg & milk" or "made in a factory that also produces products containing nuts" etc. Its not an ingredient but may have been made on equipment that made something else condaining those things.

It's to cover themselves in the event of serious allergy sufferers, like the peanut allergy people who can't even smell a peanut without going into anaphylaxes! The tiniest trace from a mixer that hasn't been 10000% cleaned between products can be enough to trigger them.

However there is the possibility that E471 may be made from animal fat. There’s a much smaller chance that E475 is of animal origin.

I’d suspect that the Over the Moo people would have been careful to source the non animal versions, but that’s not apparent.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I’ll shoot them an email. I’ll be pretty gutted if I have to cut that out!
