This is probably more suited to Covid Humour thread. While having a coffee the young lass said she won't get a vaccine as it could cause infertility. Raised my eyebrows and said no as the covid spike protein isn't the same one as the one relevant to the placenta. But she was adamant.

The bemusing part was she wants to become a paramedic and I thought Good luck with that!

Getting Covid is far more likely to cause infertility than getting the vaccine.

With lots of the misinformation about COVID , there is a piece of information that has been misquoted and or taken out of context . I've heard this enough to check up on this.

Seems when AZ was first released , in the impact on fertility , there was " unknown " written . early days , they didn't know and they were upfront and honest about that .

Subsequently , with the passage of time and 100's of millions of doses , they know that it doesn't impact fertility and they know know that been pregnant puts the mother at risk of more severe outcomes from covid . The advice has now changed .

But there are still some people , out of either ignorance or deliberate mischief still believe or push the initial advice .

Apparently the main detrimental effect (of getting Covid) is on male fertility and performance.
COVID-19 could cause male infertility and sexual dysfunction – but vaccines do not

However, there may well be effects on fertility as a whole caused by economic, psychological and leisure time considerations.
