    Hi All,

I'm building a 5 bed 5 bathrooms double story home in Melbourne and the builder is supplying the below, but is there a better way of this?

    1. Standard Hot Water Unit 1 - Hot Water Unit (Solar Gas) - Chromagen
9202VOBP11T2608 Tank with (2No.) Chromagen CR110-BP11 Solar Panels --> For First Floor

    2. Additional Hot Water Unit 1 - Hot Water Unit (Electricity) - Additional
Chromagen HP170 Heat Pump (170Lt) --> Ground Floor

I had a solar Chromagen hot water - plus instantaneous gas boosted system.

I highly recommend getting frost protection on the panels not just he thermostat. One of the panels burst after a frost a couple of years ago.

Apparently frost protection is standard on the thermostat but costs extra for the panels.

So now I have non-solar boosted hot water - the plumber bypassed the solar panels.

Also if the heat pump has an annode be certain to have it replaced at the recommended intervals. Even doing that, my tank rusted after 9 years. Just outside warranty.

what warranty are you getting with those 2 products?

i'd rather 2x continious flow hot water units (if you require 2 seperate hot water units due to large house) if only 1 then 300L solar electric hiline hot water unit (tank on roof with panels)

I like your idea about 2x continuous flow.
